Russian Victory Day military parade held at Red Square

A Russian military parade dedicated to the 72nd anniversary of the Soviet Union's victory over Nazi Germany took place on Red Square in Moscow at 10:00 a.m. local time (0700 GMT) on Tuesday.
Russian President Vladimir Putin made a speech prior to the parade, saying Russian armed forces are ready to complete any mission and counter any potential aggression.‍

Putin also stressed "there is no force be able to conquer our people," adding that "today life in Russia requires increasing defense potential."
Putin further noted that Russia was open for international cooperation to effectively fight terrorism, extremism, neo-Nazism and other threa‍ts.

According to TASS Russian News Agency, the military parade involved over 10,000 troops, more than 114 kinds of modern weapons and military hardware, and 72 aircraft.
As per TASS' report, some of the Russian army's most advanced equipment like the Tor-M2DT surface-to-air missile system and T-72B3 tanks were displayed in public for the first time.
