South Korea's newly elected President Moon Jae-in has chosen South Jeolla Province Governor Lee Nak-yon as the country's next prime minister and will make the official announcement later on Wednesday, Yonhap News Agency has reported.
Moon's five-year term began at 8:09 a.m. Wednesday local time (0009 GMT), the time at which the National Election Commission (NEC) officially confirmed his victory in the presidential election.
