An economic fugitive has returned to China on Tuesday and turned herself in after fleeing overseas for 15 years, the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection said Wednesday on its website.
Yuan Mei is accused of corruption when she worked as a loan officer at the Shahe branch of Industrial and Commercial Bank of China in southwest China's Sichuan Province.

The 46-year-old suspect fled to the US in September 2002 and Interpol issued a red arrest warrant a year later. She was listed on China’s 100 most wanted corrupt fugitives in 2015.
China launched its anti-graft operation “Sky Net” in 2015 to tackle corruption, track down overseas suspects, and bust underground banks. The campaign combines efforts from the government, the Communist Party of China, People’s Bank of China and diplomatic services.
