Turnout figures in Venezuela's Constitutional Assembly election were manipulated by at least one million votes, the chief of Smartmatic, a company running the polling, said on Wednesday.
"We know, without any doubt, that the turnout of the recent election for a National Constituent Assembly was manipulated," said Smartmatic CEO Antonio Mugica during a news briefing in London.
Mugica's remarks came after Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro on Monday claimed victory in the controversial assembly vote which represented a turnout of 41.53 percent of the country's total eligible voters.
