Foreign Ministry: India has 'misleading' concept of tri-border area

China has criticized India for being misleading about the so-called tri-junction point, where the borders of China, India and Bhutan converge.
Foreign Ministry spokesperson Geng Shuang said the point had nothing to do with India's border incursion.
India had said its troops had not trespassed into Chinese territory, but instead had been located at the tri-junction point.
"We insist that the boundary of China, India and Bhutan is a point, not a line, nor an area," Geng said, "India is attempting to expand it into a larger district, bringing in a new concept of the boundary area. It shows India has an ulterior motive."
Chinese and Indian troops have been engaged in a border standoff for around 20 days.
China claims Indian troops trespassed into Chinese territory but New Delhi has denied the allegations.
