Over 2,000 delegates of the Communist Party of China (CPC) attended the 19th CPC National Congress. Many of the delegates have already headed back home to different provinces across the country.
He Xinglong is one of these delegates. He arrived in Shanxi Province's Taiyuan city, in northern China, on Thursday morning after spending 10 days in Beijing for the 19th CPC National Congress.

But there is no tiredness in his voice, as he talks about attending the national congress. He Xinglong says he still feels thrilled.
“It was my first time sitting in the Great Hall of the People and listening to General Secretary Xi Jinping give a speech. We all felt so excited that we clapped our hands vigorously. Applause erupted over 70 times”, he said.

He Xinglong attended four major meetings inside the Great Hall of the People. He says he was impressed by every keynote speech made by General Secretary Xi Jinping.
“General Secretary Xi proposed the idea of a Healthy China as a national strategy, which makes me feel confident that people living in remote and poor villages will have more convenient access to basic medical care,” he said.

“With such a high honor, I feel encouraged to keep up with the good work. General Secretary Xi says every generation has its own long march. My long march is to stick to my job and heal as many villagers as possible,” he said.
He Xinglong says he will also relay the message and spirit of the 19th CPC National Congress to his fellow villagers when he gets back.
