It's four o'clock in the morning and Liu Bao, a police officer at Beijing Capital International Airport, is still cruising around the terminal buildings with his colleague on board a light patrol vehicle. Liu said he is proud to be what is widely known as the "guard at the state gates," with the responsibility of ensuring the safety of passengers.
