Chinese President Xi Jinping arrived in Kathmandu, the capital city of Nepal, on Saturday, for a two-day state visit.

During his visit, Xi will attend a welcome ceremony and banquet hosted by Nepali President Bidhya Devi Bhandari, with whom he is scheduled to meet. The Chinese president will also hold talks with Prime Minister K.P. Sharma Oli and jointly witness the signing of cooperation documents.

This is the first state visit by a Chinese president to Nepal in 23 years.
