The serene beauty of the Wuyi Mountains is of exceptional scenic quality thanks to the juxtaposition of smooth rock cliffs with clear, deep water.
Located in China's southeastern province of Fujian, it has enormous importance for biodiversity conservation and is a refuge for a great number of ancient, relict plant species, many of which are endemic to China. The mountains are also home to extremely rich flora and fauna, including significant numbers of reptile, amphibian and insect species.
