Chinese Vice Premier Sun Chunlan on Wednesday spoke of the positive change in coronavirus prevention and called for equal attention to be paid to mild and severe cases to prevent an increase in severe ones.
Sun, who leads a central government group to guide the epidemic control work in Hubei Province, made the remarks when visiting medical workers fighting on the frontline against the novel coronavirus epidemic (COVID-19) in Wuhan City, the epicenter of the outbreak.
Sun hailed the positive trend of the prevention work in Hubei Province and its capital city Wuhan while reiterating the importance of timely treatment.
Admitting the situation remains severe, the vice premier said she expects medical workers to improve admission and recovery rates while reducing infection and mortality rates with all-out efforts.

Hubei and its capital city Wuhan have been enhancing door-to-door screenings so as to ensure the identification of all suspected or confirmed patients.
Wuhan has increased the number of designated hospitals to 45 and opened 12 makeshift hospitals, making more than 20,000 new beds available.
