In the rainy season, the mild chorus of birds lingers across the woodland. Over 400 kinds of bird sing for the beauty of their home in southwestern Guangxi.

South China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region is home to more than 1,100 kinds of terrestrial vertebrates, of which about 150 species are under state protection. Its coastal area is covered with 40 percent of the country's mangrove forests. The 5-episode Southwestern Guangxi Series brings a glimpse of the region's special terrain and native wildlife.
