Labor Day falls on the first day of May again, the farmer, logger and any other kinds of workers deserve our praise. In a village in Menghai County, Xishuangbanna Dai Autonomous Prefecture, southwest China's Yunnan Province, farmers work in their croplands while a wild Asian elephant roams freely near them. Overcultivation has been pointed out as a destroyer of wildlife habitat, and one of the reasons behind the human-elephant conflicts. But the story in Xishuangbanna presents us with a different relationship between humans and nature, where people and animals share resources side by side in harmony.
