In Hainan, the southernmost island province of China, you are very likely to find a flower with many colors blooming along the roads. This is called common lantana, also known as wild-sage, an ornamental plant that can grow around two meters tall.
Their flowers come in many different colors, including yellow, orange, and red. The color of the flowers turns darker after pollination, typically from yellow to orange. The plant attracts butterflies and birds, and the flowers bloom for a relatively long time, which makes it a perfect choice for gardening.
Here are some photos of common lantana taken by the CGTN Nature filming crew in Hainan.
