Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics organizers on Wednesday unveiled the uniforms, shoes and accessories for staff, volunteers and technical officials of the games in Shougang Park in Beijing.
The uniform designs were selected from more than 10,000 works from home and abroad. According to Zhang Jiandong, the city's vice mayor and a senior official with the Beijing Organizing Committee for the 2022 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, they are versatile in utility for different daily work and bear fine traditional Chinese aesthetic elements.

They are also edgy in terms of technology and sustainability and are highly praised by experts, insiders, the International Olympic Committee and the International Paralympic Committee, Zhang added.
He Yang, the designer for Beijing 2022 uniforms and a professor of Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology, was also the chief designer for Beijing 2008 uniforms. She said inheritance is important to showcase that Beijing is the only city in the world to host both the Summer and Winter Olympics.

She said the Great Wall grey water ink elements in the 2022 uniforms are inspired from 2008 to show the connection between the two Games.
"China can build up our cultural image well with the help of big international events like the Winter Olympics," He said. "Uniforms have to be designed to express fashion sense and the spirit in the Chinese way."
Meanwhile, volunteer Wang Ziqi said, "I believe it is more challenging to design Winter Games uniforms than the Summer ones because keeping the wearer warm has to be taken into consideration."
"When working in a condition of minus 10 degrees Celsius, uniforms are our armor. We want to serve the Games with warmth," Wang said.
