This episode is about ancient travel writer Xu Xiake's expedition to southwest China. He recorded the scenery, terrain and folk customs along the way. His field investigation and records of karst landforms were the earliest systematic research into these limestone landforms, more than 200 years earlier than European research.
While in Yunnan, his foot problem came back and he couldn't even walk. Left with no choice, he returned to his hometown with great regret.
