Guangdong Nan'ao Series | Episode 4: Black-naped Tern

The Lemen Islands is the core zone of the Nan'ao Provincial Nature Reserve for Migratory Birds. Every summer, the black-naped terns, along with their neighbors, the bridled terns, great crested terns and Pacific reef-egrets, breed here together.

About 'Journeys in Nature': Nan'ao Series

Nan'ao Island in Guangdong Province is a rare habitat of greenery on the Tropic of Cancer. In June, the southeastern monsoon brings warm, moist air to the island, nurturing all lifeforms: from ancient fig trees and newborn black-naped terns to mysterious undersea creatures and medical herbs, which bestow Nan'ao Island with many stories.
