Hidden World of Birds in City: Beauty captured on the way
CGTN

Editor's note: Hidden World of Birds in City is about exploring a world of birds that usually goes unnoticed in urban spaces. This episode features photographs from Wang Xiaobo, who has been bird-watching near his residential community in Beijing for the past eight years.

Migration peaks in mid May every year in Beijing, when chances of seeing more variety of bird species are greater than it is in any other month. Wang said he had recorded 53 bird species in May so far, while the total bird species seen from the beginning of January this year is just 109. In the first week of May alone, he recorded three species never seen in his community before, and more surprises are expected in the following week before peak time.

Besides his busy work of recording the bird species, he also captured some artistic moments of herons taking flight. Have a look!
