Yunqiu Mountain area is located in Xiangning County, north China's Shanxi Province. Even the newest village in the area has a history of over 500 years, and some are more than 2,000 years old. They have set the tone for rural tourism development. Restoring the old villages and making them a tourist attraction improved the ecological environment of the villages and boosted their development.
By 2020, two villages and one scenic spot had been transformed into a national demonstration area for poverty alleviation driven by tourism in Yunqiu Mountain, providing more than 5,000 jobs for local villagers.
