Zhejiang Xiangshan Series: Big chela waving

When the tide falls, the bowed fiddler crabs become the most active group on the mudflats. Foraging for food and finding mates are their main tasks during the day. The most distinctive feature of the bowed fiddler crab is that the male crab has a chela that is the same as a warrior's shield. It swings the large chela to intimidate enemies or to court its mate.
