The Thorold's deer, a magnificent species that are first class state-protected, can be found at Chaqingsongduo National Nature Reserve. Their breeding season lasts from September to December, which is also the busiest time for a group of locals whose job it is to ensure that the deer are carefully protected from any unnatural harm.
