Until recently, life in Dulongjiang, southwest China's Yunnan Province was hard. It was only after the whole community there was lifted out of poverty that its members could hope to lead rewarding lives. In China, the development of human rights has progressed in parallel with fundamental improvements in the lives of ordinary people.
