What is it like to film gibbons in the wild? The documentary crew started tracing for the western black-crested gibbons in the Wuliang Mountains National Nature Reserve in Jingdong Yi Autonomous County, southwest China's Yunnan Province in April 2021. Shouldering dozens of kilograms of filming equipment and walking in the mountains surrounded by rugged cliffs, and always keeping an eye out for wild snakes, it was challenging for the crew to capture them on camera. What's more, the gibbons move quickly in the canopies within a wide range, which makes it more difficult.
