The Asian water monitor, a giant among lizards, measures up to three meters long. Through eons of evolution, the reptile has developed sharp claws and sturdy limbs, making it an agile tree climber and a thriving species in the rainforest.

Dehong Prefecture, sitting at the western end of Yunnan, is a land of lush mountains and fertile dales. Boasting both tropical and subtropical features, it is endowed with ample sunlight and heat.
