China's track and field team concluded the 2023 Asian Athletics Championships on Sunday with two more gold medals from women's events, ending the event second in the overall medal table with eight golds, eight silvers, and six bronzes.
Yang Liujing took gold in the women's 20km race walk in a time of 1:32:38. Song Jiayuan clinched a dominant victory with 18.88 meters in the women's shot put.
Meanwhile, Wang Kaihua took silver in the men's 20km event in 1:25:30, and Huang Bokai cleared 5.51 meters to finish third in the men's pole vault final.
In the women's 200m, Li Yuting added another bronze for China in 23.25 seconds. Veteran Xie Zhenye who currently holds the Asian record of 200m finished fourth in 20.66 seconds in the men's 200m final due to ankle injury.
Earlier on Saturday, Abuduaini Tuergong won China's 6th gold medal of the tournament with a final throw of 61.19 meters in the men's discus final. Compatriot Zhang Mingkun won bronze with a personal best leap of 8.08 meters in the men's long jump.
