Chinese railway workers reunite with family in Laos
02:00

The China-Laos Railway is a landmark project under the Belt and Road Initiative, linking the southwestern Chinese city of Kunming with Lao capital Vientiane. Construction of the 1,035-kilometer railway started in December 2016 and it went into service on December 2021. After the China-Laos Railway entered service, nearly 200 Chinese employees remained in Laos to ensure its safe operation. On July 17, the staff boarded the high-speed railway with their family members, who had come to Laos for a reunion, and they talked about their experiences.
