A decade or so ago, amid the European debt crisis, the historic Greek Port of Piraeus was on the verge of bankruptcy. It was saved when COSCO Shipping Group stepped in to help. However, when the Chinese company initially took over the port, many of its employees were skeptical, believing that a European or American company would have been a better option.
