Qingjing Mosque in Quanzhou, built in 1009 at the time of the Northern Song Dynasty, is the oldest surviving mosque in China. This 2,184-square-meter stone structure, modeled after similar buildings in Damascus, Syria, showcases Quanzhou's unique ability to blend cultures. It stands as a symbol of Quanzhou's multicultural heritage and as testament to cultural exchange between China and the world. As a World Heritage Site, the mosque highlights Quanzhou's role as a major hub for global maritime trade.
