Broadway musical "Chicago" is coming to China this October. The classic-hit and its production company has announced plans to tour to eleven cities in China to perform 74 shows. These cities include Shenzhen, Zhengzhou, Foshan, Beijing, Hangzhou, Suzhou, Ningbo, Chengdu, Xi'an, Nanchang and Chongqing. Sarah Soetaert will play Roxie Hart and Michelle Antrobus will play Velma Kelly in the China tour.
"Chicago" has a nearly-50-year history since its debut on Broadway in 1975. It has won a slew of significant awards in performing arts. According to Tim Reed, "Chicago" international program manager, the performances in China will be as authentic as the original "Chicago" on Broadway.
