Lai Xuanzhi was hired as a PE teacher in the southern Chinese city of Guangzhou fresh out of university in 2010. Since then, he has led Qixing Primary School’s jump rope team to international acclaim, producing 39 world champions and breaking 18 world records. He believes the sport of jump rope helps his students“leap”beyond their rural home, giving them confidence and lighting a path to their dreams.
