Israeli police said on Thursday that they have removed all new security measures installed outside a sensitive holy site in Jerusalem.
The new security was installed after two Israeli officers were killed on July 14.
The installations, which included metal detectors, railings and scaffolding, caused uproar among Palestinians who accused Israel of attempting to change the status quo at the site known to Muslims as the Noble Sanctuary and to Jews as the Temple Mount.
Muslim leaders in Jerusalem are telling worshippers to return to the site to pray after Israel removed security devices.
Leaders said they will enter the contested site soon.
