The Group of Seven Summit concludes in France, Uzbek Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov visits China and U.S. President Donald Trump visits Poland. 

G7 Summit concludes 

Leaders of the G7 group gather in the southwestern French city of Biarritz for their 45th summit on August 24-26. 

French President Emmanuel Macron plays host to the heads of state and government of Canada, Germany, Italy, Japan, the United Kingdom and the United States. 

Besides the final communique, which will probably focus on the fight against inequality, Brexit, trade, security issues and France's tax on digital companies are expected to top the agenda. 

Uzbek PM visits China 

Uzbek Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov pays an official visit to China from August 27 to 29 at the invitation of Chinese Premier Li Keqiang. 

During the visit, he will meet and hold talks with President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Keqiang. 

Guo Shengkun, a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and head of the Commission for Political and Legal Affairs of the CPC Central Committee, will co-host the fifth meeting of the China-Uzbekistan inter-governmental cooperation committee.


Trump visits Poland 

U.S. President Donald Trump visits Poland from August 31 to September 2, to mark the 80th anniversary of the outbreak of World War II. 

Trump previously visited Poland in July 2017, a few months after taking office. The U.S. has also vowed to boost the number of troops in the country. 

An additional 1,000 U.S. troops will join an existing contingent of 4,000 soldiers that are based in Poland for added security, Washington announced in June. 

Day by day: 

Monday: French President Emmanuel Macron and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe hold closing news conferences after the G7 Summit in Biarritz, France.  

Tuesday: Uzbekistan's Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov begins his visit to China (to August 29). 

Wednesday: Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babis meets Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki for intergovernmental consultations, EU informal meeting of defense ministers (to August 29), Leaders of African nations and representatives of international organizations meet for the Seventh Tokyo International Conference on African Development in Japan.

Thursday: Pentagon launches U.S. Space Command, EU informal meeting of foreign affairs ministers (to August 30).  

Friday: A quiet day in politics.

Saturday: Christine Lagarde, head of the IMF and nominee to head the European Central Bank, will address a ceremony in the Leipzig Opera presenting German Chancellor Angela Merkel with an honorary doctorate from the city's business school, U.S. President Donald Trump visits Poland (to September 2).

Sunday: Polish President Andrzej Duda and German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier commemorate the 80th anniversary of the start of WWII, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky visits Poland.
