Chinese skullcap, also known as Baikal skullcap, is a popular plant in traditional Chinese medicine. It is used in combination with other herbs to treat respiratory infections and fever. The plant contains antioxidants known as flavones which appear to have antibacterial and neuroprotective properties. The dried root of the plant is primarily used as medicine.

Chinese skullcap is a member of the mint family. It is native to several East Asian countries, including China and Mongolia. It's a perennial herb with purple or blue flowers and produces fruits from July to September.
