The closing meeting of the third session of the 13th National People's Congress (NPC), China's top legislature, was held in Beijing on Thursday.
President Xi Jinping and other Chinese leaders attended the event at the Great Hall of the People.
Li Zhanshu, chairman of the NPC Standing Committee, delivered a speech.
Chinese lawmakers approved a resolution on the government work report at the closing meeting.
They have also voted to adopt the country's first Civil Code. This will take effect from January 1, 2021.
China is set to make a national security law for Hong Kong as a related decision was adopted at the closing meeting.

The lawmakers have also approved resolutions at the meeting on the work reports of the NPC Standing Committee, the Supreme People's Court and the Supreme People's Procuratorate.
They also passed resolutions on the national economic and social development plans, as well as on the central and local budgets.
This year's session started on May 22, after a delay of over two months due to the coronavirus epidemic.
Premier Li Keqiang will take questions from Chinese and foreign reporters following the meeting.
