It's quite common to see Hosta plantaginea blooming in parks and along roads in Beijing during August and September. The white flowers release a slight fragrance and their unique shape has made them a favorite ornamental plant in parks.
The plant likes a wet, cloudy environment, and their leaves turn yellow when exposed to strong light.
