Dahurian larches prevail in the northern Greater Hinggan Mountains. The leaves turn yellow and begin to fall. In the vast stretch of gold, some trees stand proudly in green, such as the Siberian pine. There are only a few natural distribution areas of the plant in China. Over 40 years ago, scientists discovered the species in Mangui by accident.
About 'Journeys in Nature': Eastern Inner Mongolia Series
Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region is located in the north of China, with a total area of 664,900 square kilometers, adjacent to three northeastern provinces — Heilongjiang, Liaoning and Jilin, and bordering Russia and Mongolia in the north. In this series, we embark on a journey through the Hulunbuir Grassland, Xilingol Grassland, primeval forests and wetlands to see the creatures living there.
