China's heaviest steel beam was successfully hoisted into place at 1 a.m. on April 20 at the construction site of the high-speed railway bridge in Shanxi Province. This steel beam weighs 276.4 tonnes, equivalent to 92 elephants, setting a record for the heaviest steel beam to be hoisted in China.
