Over the decades, Japan's right-wing forces have been downplaying or whitewashing the country's numerous war crimes, ignoring the feelings of people in victimized neighboring countries. During the G7 Summit, concluded in Hiroshima, Japan used its history of being subjected to atomic bombing to position itself as a "war victim," and even hyped up the "threats" from neighboring countries. Behind its war-victim play, is it going to repeat the mistake of militarism?
