Thousands of years ago, nomadic people drew an interesting creature with sickle-shaped horns on the rock wall in the Altay region in northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. The animal can walk on steep cliffs with no effort with its strong hooves resembling clamps. That is the Siberian ibex.
Every November, Siberian ibexes begin to look for a mate. Only at this time, male and female Siberian ibexes can be seen hanging out together. CGTN Nature film crew recently encountered a group of Siberian ibexes in Wuqia Valley in Xinjiang. The animal is now under first-class state protection in China.
