In central China's Hubei Province lies a miraculous fairyland called Shennongjia. It is listed as a World Heritage Site, the 50th World Heritage Site in China, for its exceptional floral and faunal biodiversity and its protection of many rare, endangered and endemic species. Its complicated ecosystem is a cradle of vigorous and abundant life.
As the rainy season comes to a close in autumn, no constant streams can be found in the hidden valley in Shennongjia, yet there are traces of rivers on the soggy ground. The mysterious siphon springs reveal themselves regularly, and the waves can be strong.
