The hailstorm left many animals in the area vulnerable, including a young vulture which died from a combination of the extreme weather and injuries.

Himalayan vultures rarely express their anguish with their loud calls. The parents of the young vulture circled in the sky until well after sunset and stars came out.

This July, join CGTN to explore the secret lives of the Himalayan vultures living on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, the highest plateau in the world with an average elevation of more than 4,000 meters. Parts of the plateau span the Tibet Autonomous Region and Qinghai Province in western China.

Today, CGTN brings you the eighth installment of the 16-episode series.
