In 2015, Li Yansheng quit his job and return to Guangxi to do something for his hometown. After returning to home, as the general manager at the Jizhou Citrus Planting Base in Luocheng Mulao Autonomous County in south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, Li helped the county's poor households increase their incomes by growing mandarins.

There are more people like Li Yansheng in Luocheng County who returned to their hometowns to start businesses. With the joint efforts of the government and the society, Luocheng County was lifted out of poverty in 2020.
