Chengkou County in Chongqing Municipality sits deep in Daba Mountain. Vast forests serve as an important ecological barrier in the upper reaches of the Yangtze River. Besieged by the mountain, local people had been stuck in poverty for many years. In 2019, the National Forest Reserves project was launched in Chengkou, commercial logging was phased out gradually and ecological poverty alleviation in forestry was developed. Check the video and see how the local people got out of poverty and protected their forest.
